Meet Samantha
Hi! My name is Sam (she/her) and I am a registered psychotherapist based in Toronto. I completed my undergraduate honours degree in psychology at Western University, and my Masters degree at the University of Toronto. My original interest in psychology was developmental neuroscience, and how the brain (and its person!) learn and change. Consequently, I've spent time in a variety of settings furthering my understanding on how growth is facilitated. The past 4+ years of my career have been specific to mental health settings, and inform my clinical interests around mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, neurodiversity (ADHD + ASD) and perfectionism.
My clinical approach to psychotherapy is eclectic, evidence-based, LGBTQ+ affirmative and anti-oppressive. I draw upon Cognitive-Behavioural therapy and Emotion-Focused therapy to tailor treatment to the individual. Understanding your whole person, including concerns, strengths, challenges, the context of your life and goals will be the focus of our work together and will help foster the change you may be hoping to create through therapy.
